Hi 8-1 and 8-2!
Next Monday we will be having a quiz in Humanities about the Age of Exploration(Discovery) and the Columbian Exchange.
We have been working on a set of study cards in class that will come home in the next few days and can be reviewed at home (so "where are your study cards?" will be a great question by Friday!) In addition to the questions in these cards, students should review:
1. What kinds of things were exchanged during the Columbian Exchange? (4 types)
2. Who was considered "The Old World"?
3. Why do we avoid using the term "The New World" now?
4. Give some examples of "things" that went from the Old World to the Americas.
5. Give some examples of "things" that went from the Americas to the Old World.
6. Why did the Columbian Exchange happen?
7. What were the benefits and challenges that came from this Exchange for the people of the Americas, and the people of the Old World?
8. How did this Exchange impact the western world as we know it now? And the Old World as it is now?
Thanks for your support!
Ms. Liddell
